1955-1959: Art “Informel”

1956

His participation in group exhibitions is regular. It includes major Parisian events, such as the Première exposition internationale d’art plastique contemporain at the Museum of Fine Arts and the 5th Salon des artistes associés at the Museum of Modern Art in Paris.

1957

In December, he presents his first solo exhibition in Paris at the Diderot Gallery.

1958

He organises his second solo exhibition at the André Droulez Gallery in Reims.

His only daughter Loretta is born on the 10th of September that year.

1959

“Gruppo Sigma” is formed in Rome by Yannis Gaïtis, Vlassis Caniaris, Dimitris Kontos, Nikos Kessanlis and Costas Tsoclis.

He encounters Jean-Marie Drot and presents his works in the film Pourquoi Paris en 1960.
